Unique Learning Situations     List of Categories

  • My family has a unique learning situation - struggling student, gifted student, multiple students. My child has developed a behavior problem in school. I do not know if he is struggling or not because he appears to know his homework. Can you help?

Because our program is individualized to each student, it is perfect for him and we can certainly help you to successfully home school him. By administering diagnostic testing with our ACE or LifePac curriculum, we will know exactly where his academic difficulties lie and address those before advancing him. When a student misses key foundational skills it affects his ability to succeed in more challenging work. Our testing will reveal those areas and allow us to fill those learning gaps. Many students who have "behavior problems" and act out in class are either struggling or bored with the material. Helping him achieve academically may help him to overcome his negative behavior.

  • My child is gifted. Do you have curriculum that will challenge him?

Yes, because students are able to work at their own pace with the ACE and LifePac curriculums and begin at the level that is challenging to them, either of these curriculums would be an excellent choice. Also, the self-instructional format will allow you the freedom to be creative in developing enhancement activities for your student. The BJU Press curriculum is also challenging to the student. It does require more lesson planning on the part of the parent. This is ideal for parents who are wanting to get more involved with their children and who have the extra time to spend.
